Since his debut in 1994 with the Yvegny Onieguin opera in Madrid, Juan Jesús Rodríguez has developed an important international career playing the main baritone roles in numerous opera houses around the world, such as the Metropolitan in New York, San Carlo in Naples, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Regio di Torino, Massimo di Palermo, Rome Opera, Teatro Real, Liceo, Euskalduna, Palau de les Arts, Maestranza, Campoamor, Peking Opera, Tokyo, Hamburg, Marseille among others.

Among his most representative roles are; Rigoletto, Conte di Luna (Trovatore), Germont(traviata), Iago(Otello), Nabucco, Macbeth, Rodrigo (D:Carlo), Rodrigue (D.Carlos), Renato(Ballo in Maschera), Ezio(Attila), Ford (Falstaff), Miller (Luisa Miller), Alfio (Cavalleria Rusticana) Tonio (Pagliacci), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Riccardo (I Puritani), Vespri Siciliani.

Throughout his professional career, he has participated in important events of Spanish opera such as the Opening of the Liceu in Barcelona, ??as well as the Opening of the Teatro Real in Madrid with the opera Divinas Palabras by García Abril together with the tenor Plácido Domingo and at the Gala on the occasion of the 40-year career of the tenor Alfredo Kraus, together with the tenor, at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.

A great lover and firm defender of the Spanish repertoire, he has embodied the main baritones of Zarzuela and Spanish operas at the Teatro Nacional de la Zarzuela such as; Marina, La Tabernera del Puerto, Luisa Fernanda, La Dolores, El Soto del Parral, La Revoltosa, The Legend of the Kiss, Black the clown, Caserío, …among others.

Throughout his career he has collaborated with renowned orchestra conductors such as; Zubin Mehta, Gómez Martínez, López Cobos, Lorin Maazel, Luisotti, Renzetti, Marco Armiliato as well as stage directors of the stature of McVicar, Deflo, John Fox or Gian Carlo del Mónaco.

He has also shared the stage with many emblematic opera singers such as Alfredo Kraus, Plácido Domingo, Eva Marton, Dolora Zajick, among many others.

His next commitments will take him to Hamburg with the opera Traviata, to Tel Aviv with D Carlo directed by Daniel Oren and to the New York Metropolitan with the opera Cyrano de Berjerac together with the tenor Roberto Alagna, coinciding with the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Lincoln Center.

He combines his career as a singer with teaching, giving private lessons and singing master classes throughout the country.
