Victoria Mikhailova was born in Baku (Azerbaijan) and started piano at the local School of Music with Natalia Zakharova (a student of J. Milstein), achieving the gold medal. She entered the Conservatory of Music in Baku, obtaining her diploma with honors specializing in piano teaching, accompaniment and chamber ensemble. She got the First Prize at the Republican Competition in Memory of Rachmaninoff. From 1984 she began an intense concert activity, performing in several cities of the USSR.
In 1991 she moved to Spain, where she continues to develop her career; performs as an accompanist in prestigious international competitions and concert tours, in countries such as Argentina, Portugal, England, Czech Republic, Japan, Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Norway, Finland, Russia, Serbia, Mexico; Also in master classes with Yehudi Menuhin, David Zafer, Zakhar Bron, Salvatore Accardo, Dora Schwartzberg, Sergej Krylov, Pavel Vernikov.
She won the second prize in the international chamber music competitions “Guadamora” (2003) and “Anton Garcia Abril” (2013). She has recorded for TVE, Canal Sur and Telemadrid. She was a soloist at festivals in Ayamonte, Gandia, Alcoy, Castalla, Segovia, Orense, Oviedo, Melilla, Ceuta, with the chamber orchestra Misco, founded by her daughter, violinist Elena Mikhailova, who is considered one of the “young talent” in classical music by JJ.MM. and “spectacular violinist” by ABC. She recently recorded a CD in cooperation with the firm Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Entre Jotas y Zapateados, homage to Sarasate, with Elena Mikhailova.
