Juan Delgado Serrano
Graduated in Composition and Ethnomusicology (COSCYL, Extraordinary Prize), BA/BSc (Hons) Audio Production (SAE Institute/Middlesex University, First Class Honours), BA in Social and Cultural Anthropology (UNED) and specialized in jazz and modern piano (Germán Kucich, Escuela de Música Creativa).
As a composer and sound artist he is especially interested in sound and audiovisual narrativity, immersive audio environments and interdisciplinary immersive art. His work Ad Petendam Pluviam won him the first prize (Xavier Monsalvatge Award) of the XXXI Premio Jóvenes Compositores Fundación SGAE-CNDM 2020.
He collaborates regularly with Lingokids Studios as composer, sound designer and audio producer of podcasts such as Stories for Kids, Growin’ Up or Music to Our Ears. He also collaborates regularly with the production company MAD as immersive audio producer of international immersive exhibitions such as Tutankhamun or The Last Days of Pompeii.
In the field of ethnomusicology, he is the author of the book Agua te pedimos (2022), the result of a research about the rogations, rituals and songs of petition for rain in the province of Segovia, developed thanks to a research grant from the Instituto de la Cultura Tradicional Segoviana Manuel González Herrero.
In the field of music production, he has worked with labels such as Warner Music and Elefant Records, and is a regular collaborator of producer Eugenio Muñoz. He has been part of bands like Power to the People or Bobby Martinez Big Band, and has been musical director of tours of artists like Rodrigo Mercado. He also leads the project Nubes de Malta as artist, author and producer.
