Anxe Faraldo, PhD.
Anxe Faraldo is an experimental music performer and composer. His work focuses on the systematic exploration of processes that maximise minimal resources, developing a performative, critical and ecological perspective on electronic sound, noticeable in his work as an improviser, as well as in his art installations, or in his compositions for theatre and film.
He also develops a career as a sound engineer, specialising in live sound in contemporary music repertoire and live-electronics setups, collaborating with renowned ensembles and composers. He has taught Electronic Music Composition at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and ESMUC, being currently a member of the Composition Department at Taller de Músics, in Barcelona. He was artistic director of the Phonos Foundation between 2018 and 2023.
Ángel holds an BA in Music Performance (Royal Conservatory, Madrid), a MA in Sonology (Institute of Sonology, The Hague), and a PhD from the Music Technology Group at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona.
