Daniela Iolkicheva

Born in Sofia, Daniela Iolkicheva studied at the “L. Pipkov” Music Institute with Constance Karadjova. Pipkov” Music Institute with Constance Karadjova, at the Sofia Conservatory of Music and later, with a scholarship by competitive examination, at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory (St. Petersburg) with Tatiana Tauer, obtaining a doctorate in harp and piano with the highest marks and “Cum Laude”.

Prizes: VII Bulgarian National Competition, where he also received the Special Prize for the youngest participant; International Festivals in Moscow and St. Petersburg; “Andrés Segovia and José Miguel Ruíz Morales” Prize (Music in Compostela); “Jakez François” Prize at the I Iberian Chamber Music Competition with Harp in Madrid, together with the violinist Serguei Teslya.

Since 1991 she has been harp soloist with the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville and since 2002 she has been harp teacher at the San Francisco de Paula School of Music. She develops an intense concert activity as a soloist and in chamber duo with María Antonia Rodríguez – flute soloist of the Orquesta Sinfónica de la RTVE.

Composers such as Antonio Noguera, Esteban Sanz Vélez, Julio Lozano, Martín Zalba, Luis Ignacio Marín and Gualberto García have dedicated their works to him. He has made recordings for Bulgarian, Russian, Spanish and Italian RTVE. He has performed with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London, St. Petersburg State Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of India, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, with conductors such as Maazel, Muti, Rostropovich, Jansons…. Also in festivals such as the Santander International Festival, Granada Festival, Clásicos en Verano, Festival dei Due Mundi di Spoleto…
