Jose Antonio Candel Campillo
Born in Murcia in 1989. He finishes the Professional Grade with Miguel Luis Losada obtaining honors and extraordinary prize. Subsequently, he studied the Superior Grade with Pilar Valero receiving honors in each course, as well as in the graduation concert. At the same time, he studied with Aquiles Delle Vigne at the Schola Cantorum in Paris. During this period he was awarded in the following competitions:
Third prize in the III National Competition of Piano Interpretation “Santo Domingo” (2006, Alicante).
First prize in the autonomic phase of the VI National Contest of interpretation “Intercentros Melómano” and representative of the community of Murcia in Madrid (2008). Prize for the best interpretation of Spanish Music in the VIII International Competition “Ciudad de El Ejido” (Almeria, 2008). First prize in the IX Edition of the competition “Entre cuerdas y Metales” of Cartagena (Murcia, 2008).
First prize in the I Edition of the Concurso Jóvenes Intérpretes Villa de Molina (middle grade category) (Murcia, 2008). Prize for the best interpretation of Spanish Music in the XXI Edition of the National Competition for Young Performers “Ruperto Chapí” (Alicante, 2009). Second prize in the competition Ciudad de Murcia 2009. First Prize in the II Edition of the contest Young performers Villa Molina (category Superior Grade) (Murcia, 2010). Abyla Prize to the best Spanish music performer in the International competition Ciudad de Ceuta (2010). Later, he moves to Berlin to further his studies at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” with the eminent pianist Fabio Bidini and Shirley Brill in chamber music, obtaining the highest qualifications.
In 2019 he is selected for the Sommerakademie Salzburg under the tutelage of Maestro Delle Vigne.
He has furthered his training with musicians such as Claudio Martinez Mehner, Boyan Vodernitcharov, Jean Claude Vanden Eynden, Evelyne Branckart, Nina Kereselize, Rolland Pröll, Peter Feutchwanger, Konstance Eickhorst, Olivier Gardon, Agathe Leimoni, Von Arnim, Imre Rohmann, Enmanuel Krasowsky, Michael Wladkovsky, among others.
His concert work is carried out throughout Spain highlighting halls such as “El Ateneo”, “El círculo de bellas Artes” or “Palacio de Fernán Nunez” in Madrid. El Circulo de Bellas Artes” or the “Palacio de Fernán Nuñez” in Madrid, the “María Cristina” hall in Malaga, the “Marq” and the “Real Casino” in Alicante, the “Teatro Carrión” and the “Miguel Delibes” auditorium in Valladolid, the Aquarium in Seville, the “Teatro Amaia” in Irún, the auditorium in León, the auditorium in Burgos, the Victor Villegas auditorium and the “Real Casino” in Murcia, and abroad in countries such as France, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, Austria (Wiener Zaal in Salzburg, England, Italy and Nigeria), Germany, Austria (Wiener Zaal in Salzburg), England, Italy and Nigeria. He has participated in International Festivals such as “Sic itur in astra” in Torre in Pietra (Rome), the “Midsummer Festival” in Berlin, the “Flamenco Festival” in the Cervantes Theater in London, as well as his interpretations of the Sonata in B minor by Liszt in L’atelier in Brussels and the Suite Iberia by Albéniz in the Muson Center in Lagos (Nigeria). He has been soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of Cartagena, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Murcia touring Spain under the baton of Virginia Martinez, and the Symphony Orchestra of Elche with great critical and public success, highlighting the interpretation of the concertos KV 271 by Mozart and Chopin’s Concerto No. 1 Op 11. He has participated in the recording of a CD in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Chopin’s birth in collaboration with the Polish Embassy, as well as in the commemorative disc-book of the 10th anniversary of his birth.
In 2015 he obtained a position as piano professor at the Conservatorio Narciso Yepes in Murcia, but since 2021 he has been living in Madrid, where he is on leave of absence, fully engaged in his intense concert activity. He has recently made a recording of the Sonata in B minor by F. Liszt for the Numen+ platform (broadcast in more than 15 countries) and has taught Spanish music courses in Lagos, Nigeria.
