Marina García

Marina García Gallego, is a Madrid-La Mancha bassoonist, trained in the best schools in Madrid, Zurich and Basel. She has extensive experience in Orchestra, and since 2017 he has developed his career as a soloist, playing programs that combine his two specialties and passions: baroque and contemporary.

Her professional history is as follows: She began her bassoon studies at the age of eight at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Arturo Soria in Madrid, where she completed elementary and middle-grade studies with Francisco Mas Soriano and Eduardo Alaminos, finishing them with honours, allowing her to play as a soloist in the chamber hall of the National Music Auditorium in Madrid. From 2006 to 2009, she completed her higher education at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid with maestro Francisco Mas Soriano.

In 2008 she was accepted with the wind quintet Clara Wieck at the Reina Sofía professional music school in the chair of chamber music, where she had the opportunity to receive classes from maestro Klaus Thunemann, Radovan Vlatkovic, Hansjörg Schellenberger, and be part as principal bassoon of the Freixenet Orchestra, with which she toured the best auditoriums in Spain. In 2009 he obtained a place in the bassoon chair of the school, directed by teachers Klaus Thunemann and Francisco Alonso. Since 2008 she has been principal bassoon of the Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) and is a member of the European Youth Orchestra since 2009 (EUYO).

She has played with directors such as; Zubin Mehta, Sir Colin Davis, Gustavo Dudamel, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Adrian Leaper, Gianandrea Noseda, Pablo Gonzalez, Ros Marbá, Josep Pons, among others. In 2012 she finished her Master studies with maximum qualification by the hand of maestro Sergio Azzolini at the Musik Akademie der Stadt Basel. She continued his studies at the Hochschule der Künste Zurich with the International soloist Matthias Racz, with maestro Giorgio Mandolesi in orchestral repertoire and with Professor Hans Agreda in the specialty of Contrabassoon, with whom he graduated in 2016 with Sehr gut qualification.

After the second Master, she began her solo career premiering in Switzerland at the Lilienberg Foundation with the pianist Luis del Valle.
From 2014-2016 she belongs to the job board of the Tonhale Orchestra of Zurich where she collaborates assiduously. From 2014-2016 she is a member of the Zermatt Festival with which she gives concerts throughout Europe training with the soloists of the Berlin Philharmonic. Since 2014 she has been a member of the ORCAM, Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, winning a job bank that will allow her to collaborate with them on a regular basis. She also collaborates with the contemporary music ensemble Plural ensemble directed by maestro Fabián Panisello.

In 2017 she began her teaching career at the Professional Conservatory of Music of Arturo Soria, where she performed a solo concert premiering with the prestigious Saxophonist Andrés Gomis the duo for two bassoons by the Russian composer Sofiya Gubaidúlina.
