Nikola Tanaskovic

Nikola Tanaskovic has achieved an unequalled international career thanks to more than forty awards in international and national competitions, including First Prize at the 51st Internationaler Akkordeonwettbewerb Klingenthal (Germany). First Prize at the 58th Trophée Mondial de L’Accordéon (Sarajevo). Accesit and the Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya Prize for the best performer of a Catalan composer’s work in the 22nd cycle El Primer Palau de Barcelona, etc.

For his excellent achievements, the Serbian government awarded him Special Prizes in recognition of the success and dissemination of his talent. From Serbia he moved to Spain, where he continued his academic training at the Conservatorio Superior de Música del País Vasco Musikene under the guidance of Iñaki Alberdi and later extended his studies with a Master’s degree in Solo Performance at the C.S. Katarina Gurska with Ángel Luis Castaño.

She has toured and performed in concerts throughout much of Europe and Asia. He has also performed at festivals such as Quincena Musical de San Sebastián; X Ciclo de Música Contemporánea de Badajoz; Accordion Festival in Palanga, Lithuania; Nomus Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia; The Second International Accordion Festival in Beijing; and for the Fundación Juan March in Madrid. He has performed as a soloist with the Vogtland Philharmonie Greiz/Reichenbach (Germany), NOMUS Festival Orchestra (Serbia), Vojvodina Youth Chamber Orchestra (Serbia), Plural Ensemble, Musikene Sinfonietta, Orquesta de RTVE; under conductors such as Caba Zima, Stefan Fraas, Fabian Panisello, José Luis Estellés, Arturo Tamayo, Borja Quintas, etc.

His particular vision of interpretation has led him to collaborate with composers such as Sofiya Gubaidulina, Jesús Torres, Ramon Lazkano, Félix Ibarrondo, Israel López Estelche, Fernando Buide, Fabià Santcovsky, Aitor Furundarena, Enrique Busto and Dong-Myung Kim.

He currently teaches accordion at the Centro Superior de Enseñanza Musical Katarina Gurska in Madrid.

He has recently released “Omnia Ubique”, his first solo recording, for the Poliédrica label thanks to the Injuve Grants for Young Creation 2018/2019.
