Rubén Darío Reina

Graduated with honors from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, where he was a student of Gregory Feiguin and Ara Bogdonyan, both disciples of the famous violinist David Oistrakh, he obtained the title of “Master of Fine Arts”, Violinist, Concert Violinist, Superior Violin Professor and Specialist in Chamber Music.
Of Colombian origin, he is a violinist of great international projection thanks to his activity developed from an early age as soloist in front of important orchestras of Europe, USA and Latin America among which stand out, Russian Symphony, Spanish Radio Television Symphony, Novosibirsk Philharmonic, Lviv Symphony, Chicago Latin Symophonic Festival Orchestra, Bogotá Philharmonic and Colombian National Symphony, these last two, with which he has also performed as guest concertmaster.
Based in Spain since 1997, first as a member of the Real Filarmonía de Galicia in Santiago de Compostela and since 2002 as professor of the Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española in Madrid, he maintains an intense work as a concert violinist and chamber musician performing on stages in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Washington, Berlin, Frankfurt, Dresden, Paris, Athens, Montreaux, Lisbon, Rio de Janeiro, Bogota, etc., as well as on the main stages of Spain; as well as in the main stages of Spain, such as the Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid, Palacio Real de Madrid, Fundación Juan March, Museo Guggenheim de Bilbao, Palau de la Música de Valencia, Auditorio de León, Auditorio de Galicia, Teatro Monumental, among others.

He has recorded for Televisión Española, Radio Clásica de Radio Nacional de España, Canal Cultural de Rusia, Radio de la Suisse Romande and concert performances broadcast throughout Europe by the European Broadcasting Union. His recordings for IBS Clássical, the Colombian Association of Electroacoustic Music and the Spanish label Non Profit Music have received favorable reviews from specialized media such as Scherzo, Ritmo, and the Dutch magazine Luster.
Throughout his career, he has expanded his artistic activity to the direction and creation of projects such as “Muzík Ensemble”, founded in 2013, with which, in addition to performing concerts in the main halls of Spain, he develops a social work, bringing music to non-habitual audiences of classical music, performing mainly baroque music in historicist versions.
His incursions into the world of Latin Jazz have led him to perform with great figures of the genre such as Román Filiú and the pianist and composer Pepe Rivero, with whom he has made recordings for RTVE and concerts in the USA.
As a composer, he has written the soundtrack for the films “Semillas de Alegría”, “Victoria 20/30” and “Aquí y ahora”, for the Spanish production company Tus ojos.
