Zacarías de la Riva

Film music composer with more than 50 film productions. He studied in Boston at the Berklee College of Music where he obtained a double degree in Composition and Film Scoring.

He has received several awards and nominations for his music, including a Goya Award nomination for his soundtrack for the animated film “The Adventures of Tadeo Jones”; and award for Best Soundtrack of the Year 2014 and IFMCA nomination for Best Science Fiction Soundtrack for “Autómata” by Gabe Ibáñez, starring Antonio Banderas.

His latest project has been the creation of the soundtrack for the 3rd and 4th season of the series “Entrevías”, and the Christmas advert for El Corte Inglés “Planta 2 ½” and he will soon be composing Paco León’s romantic comedy “Sin Instrucciones” directed by Marina Seresesky.

Recently, Zacarías composed the music for the Netflix series “El Silencio” with Aron Piper, and the Disney+ series “La Chica Invisible” with Zoe Stein and Daniel Grao and the soundtrack for the animated film “Tadeo Jones y la tabla esmeralda”, third film in the Tadeo Jones saga.

Previous credits include the music for the Spanish thriller-drama “Bajocero” by Lluís Quílez, starring Javier Gutiérrez and Karra Elejalde, which premiered at #1 on Netflix; animated films such as “Un gallo con muchos huevos” by Gabriel and Rodolfo Riva Palacio, the highest grossing animated film in the history of Latin American animation to date; “Las aventuras de Tadeo Jones 2: El secreto del Rey Midas” by Enrique Gato and David Alonso; romantic comedies such as “Mamá o Papá”, “Hasta que la boda os separe” and “El mejor verano de mi vida” by Dani de la Orden; Robert Moresco’s thriller “Bent”, with Sofía Vergara and Karl Urban; Dan Krauss’ war drama “The Kill Team” with Alexander Skarsgard; Martín Hodara’s drama “Nieve Negra” with Ricardo Darín and Leonardo Sbaraglia; Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s horror thriller “Evolution”, winner of the Jury Prize at the San Sebastian Festival; Carles Torrens’ psychological thriller “Pet” with Dominic Monaghan; or the documentary “La maleta de Helios” by Javier Angulo and Nacho A. Villar, among others.

Zacarías’ music has been performed by several well-known Spanish orchestras, including the Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi, the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife. His music was also featured in Santa Clara Vanguard’s 2018 “Babylon” show, winner of the 2018 Drum Corps International World Championship.
