Adrián Baratech Domínguez

“Adrián Baratech’s professional approach is based on interpretative honesty and artistic coherence. His seal of quality as a guitarist is defined, among other virtues, by his sonorous preciosity, precise articulation, elegant phrasing, rhythmic transparency and an enormous melodic flight that inspires the lyricism of his message”. (Mikaela Vergara, for La Dársena de Radio Clásica).

Guitarist, teacher and concert pianist born in Madrid and trained both at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid (as a student of Miguel Trápaga) and at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Switzerland (under the guidance of Lorenzo Micheli).

In recent years he has become interested and specialised in the field of romantic music for guitar, especially in the first half of the 19th century, with the intention of recovering music that is little known today.

As a result of his research, he recorded his first solo album: Romanticismo Meridional, recorded with a Romantic guitar made specifically for him by José Ramírez, with whom he has been collaborating assiduously for years.

In 2023 he was selected by Juventudes Musicales de España to participate in the MusaE project.

A very active musician in the field of chamber music, he has given concerts with string quartet (Cuarteto Nebra), with various guitar duos, as well as with the pianist and composer Manuel Pacheco.

She is currently performing a programme based around the figure of Franz Schubert together with the mezzo-soprano Lucía Caihuela, with whom she forms the Duo Errantes.

She has given recitals at the Teatro Municipal de Benvivere in Bembibre (León) as part of the “Festival Luis Olano”; Teatro-Museo de la Casa de la Moneda y Timbre de Madrid, at the Museo del Romanticismo (Madrid); at the Sala de Cámara del Teatro Principal de Burgos; at the festival “Musica nelle corti” in Ticino (Switzerland), and others.

He has performed as a soloist with the Toledo Conservatory Orchestra as part of the prize obtained in the 14th “Diputación de Toledo” performers’ competition. And again as a soloist with the Orquesta Filarmonía at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid.

He currently teaches at the Centro de Enseñanza Musical Katarina Gurska (Madrid), where he is a tenured guitar teacher.
