María Lindo
Maria Lindo was born in Madrid, she lived in Aranjuez until she moved to Berlin where she studied at the Hochschule für Musik ‘Hanns Eisler’ and completed her musical education with a Master’s degree in music in the class of Professor Nick Deutsch at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater ‘Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’ in Leipzig. After moving to Berlin, she discovered the English horn and has pursued it with a passion ever since. She started taking lessons with Professor Gerd Albrecht Kleinfeld in Berlin and continued with Professor Gundel Janneman-Fischer in Leipzig. She specializes in solo repertoire and chamber music for the English horn.
She made her debut as a soloist with Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari’s Concertino for English horn op.34 with the Orchestra Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie conducted by Gustavo Gimeno. She collaborated with symphony and opera orchestras such as the Kammerakademie Potsdam, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
She has recently recorded her first solo album of original repertoire for English horn with Ibs Classical, which was released in the summer of 2022. Maria Lindo is the artistic director of the company Linien Soundkraft, which realises projects fusing music with other art forms.
