Pedro López Salas

Born in Albacete (Spain) in 1997, he completed his Master’s degree in piano performance with high distinction at the Royal College of Music in London (RCM) with the legendary pedagogue Norma Fisher. He was awarded a full scholarship and is also a Steinway Scholar and holder of the Leverhulme Honorary Arts Scholarships. He graduated with honours from the Katarina Gurska Centre for Advanced Piano Studies. He is a member of the Keyboard Trust and Talent Unlimited, both in the UK.

He has been awarded more than 50 prizes in international and national piano competitions, including Second Prize at the Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (Poland), as well as four special prizes, including Best Recital in the Semi-Final Second Prize and four special prizes at the International Piano Competition in Ferrol. First Prizes at the Malta International Piano Competition; CIPCE International Piano Competition “Compositores de España” (Las Rozas, Madrid); “Joan Chisell” Schumann Prize of the RCM (London); “César Franck” International Piano Competition (Brussels), etc. In addition, among others, First Prize and all the special prizes in the largest national piano competition in Spain, the National Piano Competition “Ciudad de Albacete”, becoming the first prize winner of the “César Franck” International Piano Competition (Brussels).

He has received masterclasses from great masters such as Dmitri Baskirov, Dmitri Alexeev, Piotr Paleczny, Alexander Kobrin, Pavel Nerssesian, Vanessa Latarche, Pascal Nemirovsky, Pavel Gililov, Luis Fernando Pérez, and previously trained with Mariana Gurkova, Leonel Morales and Ludmil Angelov.

He has given recitals in prestigious concert halls, such as the Pomeranian Philharmonic Concert Hall in Bydgoszcz (Poland), the Palau de la Música in Valencia, the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, the Auditorio Miguel Delibes in Valladolid, the Auditorium and the “Teatro Jofre” of Ferrol, the Auditorium “Manuel de Falla” of Granada, the “Teatro Circo” of Albacete, the Theatre of Aachen, the “Wiener Festsaal” of Vienna, the “Wiener Saal” of Salzburg, among many others. He has performed as a soloist with major orchestras such as the “Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia”, “Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León”, “Orquesta de Valencia”, “Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla”, or with the “Pomeranian Hall Symphony Orchestra” in Poland. His upcoming engagements include a concert in the symphony hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic within the festival “Chopin and his Europe” as soloist with the “Orkiestra Historyczna”, a tour of Ischia and southern Italy, a recital in Utrecht at the festival of the “International Franz Liszt Piano Competition”, among others.

He has given numerous interviews for international and national press, radio and television. “Three encores, a standing audience and a long line of spectators queuing up to congratulate the young Spanish pianist.
