Claudia Dominh Ramos

Claudia Do Minh Ramos was born 1994 in Madrid and began her musical studies at the age of 3 with her father, Thuan Dominh. In May 2021, she completed with honours her Master Performance in viola with Professor Kim Kashkashian at the New England Conservatory in Boston. Previously, she received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Hochschule für Musik und Teather Felix Mendelssohn in Leipzig, Germany, with Professor Tatjana Masurenko. She has received several scholarships such as the Comunidad de Madrid scholarship for young musicians, the prestigious Humboldt- Stiftung and the DAAD-Infinitum scholarship from the German government. She has also participated in master classes given by great masters such as Hartmut Rohde, Jean Sulem, Martin Outram, Thomas Riebl, Nobuko Imai, Harolf Schlichtig and Bruno Pasquier.

Her collaborations in the field of chamber music have led her to participate in different festivals such as the Casals Festival in Prades, the Trenta Musik Forum (with the Vienna Philharmonic) and Banff in Canada. She has had the opportunity to study with renowned quartets such as the Borromeo String Quartet, the Parker String Quartet, the Talich Quartet, the Kronos Quartet and the Vogler Quartet. She has also been the founding violist of the Rasa String Quartet in Boston, with whom she won first prize in the Chamber Music in Yellow Competition (2020) and the MTNA Chamber Music Competition (2021).

With different ensembles she has performed in important international and national concert halls such as the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Hanoi Opera (Vietnam), Jordan Hall (Boston), the Auditorio Nacional (Madrid) and Shalin Liu (Rockport).

In addition, her commitment to Spanish and contemporary music has allowed her to premiere works by renowned contemporary composers such as José Buenagu, winner of the National Music Prize, and to combine music with other arts through performance and collaborations with other artists from different disciplines such as dance and the visual arts.

When she is not collaborating in different musical projects, Claudia develops her teaching career. She obtained a Master’s Degree in Teacher Training and a Master’s Degree in Musical Research and has taught at the CPM. Arturo Soria.
