Mª Luisa Navarro

She was born in Madrid, the city where she studied music and where she graduated as Professor of Musicology at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She studied the C.A.P. at the Complutense University and completed the Master in Management of Musical Documentation, with a scholarship from the Autonomous University of Madrid, during which she developed a work on integrated management focused on the stage music of the composer Felix Maximo Lopez, figure and work on which she continues researching in the thesis with which she received her doctorate cum laude in Artistic, Literary and Cultural Studies – Music, at the UAM.

She has been a founding member of several associations such as ACIM (Association of Musical Creation and Research) and ACoDIM (Association of Composers, Conductors, Performers and Musicologists); Artistic Coordinator of the Meetings of Musical Creation and Research, in which she intervened as a speaker and moderator; Coordinator of the Educational Project Echoes 1.61 Ensemble (Research, Experimentation and Dissemination of Contemporary Music).

She has an extensive teaching career as a teacher of Music History, Musical Language, Analysis, Accompaniment and Complementary Piano. Currently, she teaches Music History and Musical Language at the EMKG; she belongs to the research team of the CSKG, tutoring research work; she is also PDI of the International University of Valencia (VIU) where she teaches in the Degree in Musicology, in addition to tutoring TFM’s of her Master’s Degree in Performance and Research.

She combines her teaching work with musicological research, participation in conferences, publication of articles and musical editions. Currently, she is developing a project for the staging of the musical theater play Los locos, by F. M. López, in collaboration with the UAM, which will be premiered during the 50th Concert Season at the Auditorio Nacional.
